Whilst on the BLS tour late Saturday, gen came in to say that Hilcote Valley Railway had experienced a bad season and may be closing soon, if not this weekend. Phone calls were made and an urgent “all available tracks” charter was arranged for Sunday for after the event at Foxfield. With some safe but lively driving 15 PLEG and / or BLS members arrived at 16:30 and were carried in three sit astride coaches on 2 full circuits of the 500 yard line. The train also explored the station avoiding line, two depot roads (roads one and three), ran onto the turntable and up the loco loading branch to EOL.
